… and serve fruit as a desert.
We’re on the back side of another candy-infused holiday and it’s the new year. It is time to start a sneaky healthy habit for your kids.
Put raw veggies on the table before the meal
My wife and I – okay, mainly my awesome wife – has been tricking our family into eating more vegetables by making them the default easy snack before meals. Our kids can snack right before meals as much as they want (on vegetables)!
We find carrots, multi-colored bell peppers, and cucumbers tend to be our kids’ favorites. Bonus, they are also easy to quickly prepare. Give it a try. I mean, what’s the worst that could happen?
Fruit is a dessert
Seriously, fruit contains fructose (SUGAR!), which means it makes the perfect sweet dessert. My main point with fruit is not to serve it before or during meals. (Why are people surprised when kids only eat the fruit from their meal?)
I hope you find that a useful tip.
